Hodge Podge Group Scavenger Hunt (Christmas Break activity)

Hodge Podge Group Scavenger Hunt

We’ve used this is a Christmas break activity for many years.  It got to the point that the kids were asking months in advance when we were going to do our Christmas scavenger hunt.  As you can see, we do it at our local mall, but it can be changed to fit any mall, park, or indoor/outdoor area with enough places to put on the list.  It’s great with more people.  We always split into teams of 2.  One and adult and one child, but as the kids got older, we would invite friends and let them go it alone or do kids vs adults.

Each item is worth 1 point.  Set a time limit (we always did 30 minutes to an hour depending on the number of people).  Decide on a meeting place for the end.  Print enough copies for each team and provide clipboards and pens.  Picture items are taken on a phone to be shared at the end.  Trivia questions answered on the back of the paper.  The teams split off and start collecting points.  The great part is, they can pick and choose the items they want to try and get to earn the most points.

Meet at the end and tally the points.  Everyone will have a great laugh over the stories and pictures.   Reward the winning team with a pick of treat at the nearest ice cream shop or whatever other reward you’ve worked out ahead of time.

Happy Hodge Podge Hunting!
